OOH LA LA, MAMA
Maternity Wear Meets The Designer Challenge
By: Catherine Salfino

Julia Beck, founder of Forty Weeks, a consulting and marketing firm that studies expectant and new mothers, says a wardrobe that works for the entire pregnany and into the “fourth trimester”, (the postpartum pudgy period) is embraced by many moms-to-be.

“Each piece in a limited wardrobe needs to perform well and offer a lot of wearing options,” Beck states. “This has become a big focus – building a wardrobe around a few key pieces that work endlessly. And of course, comfort is essential.”
